FAQ | Frequently Asked Questions
Thank you for supporting mindfie GOODS. To help you enjoy our incense products perfectly, we have put together this list of frequently asked questions and usage tips:
💡 About mindfie GOODS Incense
Q1. Are mindfie GOODS incense products 100% natural?
Yes, we strictly insist on 100% all-natural products. All of our incense items are handcrafted by us. We grind natural plant raw materials (such as wood, herbs, flowers, roots, and resins) directly into powder to create them. No chemical ingredients, artificial fragrances, essential oils, or preservatives are ever added during the production process.
Q2. Is burning incense suitable for everyone? Can households with pets or children use them?
Our incense products are pure and natural, and the raw ingredients themselves are harmless to both humans and pets.
- Regarding Pet Safety (Pet-friendly): While there is currently no official global certification for "pet-friendly" incense, we pay extra attention during research and development. We never use essential oils or chemical fragrances, and we completely ban raw ingredients commonly used in incense making that are harmful to pets (such as cinnamon, citronella, and cloves). This allows you to use our products in spaces with your furry friends with peace of mind.
- Professional Advice: Although the ingredients are natural, if anyone in your household suffers from respiratory diseases, is pregnant, has G6PD deficiency, or is highly sensitive to smoke, we recommend consulting a medical professional before use and keeping the indoor area well-ventilated.
Q3. Why do mindfie GOODS incense sticks not have a bamboo core?
When a bamboo core burns, it produces an off-flavor that interferes with the original aroma of the incense. To allow everyone to experience the purest, unadulterated natural scent, we insist on making coreless incense sticks.
🪵 Differences: Incense Sticks, Cones, and Raw Ingredients
Q4. What is the difference between incense sticks and incense cones? How should I choose?
The two differ in burning time, smoke volume, and scent intensity. You can choose based on your space size and usage habits:
- Incense Cones: They have a shorter burning time (about 20 minutes per cone) but produce more smoke and a richer, more intense aroma. The lingering scent after it goes out lasts longer (typically 1 to 2 hours indoors). They are ideal for larger spaces or environments where you want to diffuse the fragrance quickly.
- Incense Sticks: They have a longer burning time and produce less smoke. The lingering scent after they burn out is shorter than that of cones (starting to fade after about half an hour). Their gentle nature makes them perfect for relaxation, stress relief, calming the mind before bed, or for use in smaller rooms.
[Diffusion Coverage Reference]
- Incense Sticks: Suitable for spaces around 80 - 150 sq. ft.
- Incense Cones: Suitable for spaces around 150 - 200 sq. ft.
- Tip: If you are a first-time user or have a smaller space, we recommend starting with incense sticks.
Q5. I want to start with single-ingredient incense. What is the difference between Agarwood, Frankincense, and Sandalwood? Which one is milder?
- Ingredients & Scents: They are aromatic resins produced by plants of different genera. Agarwood has a deep, mellow, and rich aroma; Frankincense carries a uniquely crisp, slightly citrusy resinous scent; Sandalwood is warm, calming, and serene. Scent is a highly subjective experience that varies from person to person, so we welcome you to visit our store to try them in person.
- Agarwood Sinking vs. Agarwood: Agarwood Sinking is mellower, more complex, and has stronger penetration than standard agarwood. For daily sleep aid, standard agarwood is more than enough; however, if you have a higher, more refined appreciation for fragrance, agarwood sinking is highly recommended.
Q6. Which styles do you recommend for sleep aid or daytime work?
Different single-ingredient incenses carry different natural therapeutic benefits. You can choose according to the time of day or your mood:
- Daytime / WFH / Reading: We recommend Sandalwood / Sandalwood Rose / Palo Santo Sandalwood (helps calm the mind and maintain clarity) or Red Cypress / Red Cypress Rose (helps boost focus).
- Nighttime / Relaxation & Stress Relief / Sleep Aid: We recommend Agarwood / Frankincense, Palo Santo Vetiver, Palo Santo Frankincense, Japanese Temple, or AWETUMN. Among these, the "Japanese Temple Incense Cone" has a heavier woody tone and a deep Zen vibe, making it highly favored by gentlemen and perfect for meditation and night relaxation.
🛠️ Usage and Preservation
Q7. How should I light an incense cone?
Use a lighter or a match to ignite the top of the incense cone. Let it burn for a few seconds until the top is fully heated, then gently blow out the flame. Allow it to naturally release a steady, gentle stream of white smoke.
Q8. Do I have to burn the entire incense stick or cone every time?
- Incense Sticks: No. You can extinguish it at any time, or break the stick to your desired length before lighting it.
- Incense Cones: We recommend burning them completely each time. If you must extinguish it halfway, please gently brush away the ash on top before relighting it next time, which makes it much easier to ignite.
Q9. How long can our incense products be stored? How should they be properly preserved?
- Shelf Life: Under good storage conditions, they can generally be kept for 10 to over 20 years. Incense works similarly to aged tangerine peel—the longer it is stored, the purer and mellower the aroma becomes.
- Storage Method: We recommend storing your incense in airtight boxes or moisture-proof boxes. Avoid leaving them in fully ventilated areas for extended periods, as flowing air brings in moisture, which can cause the incense to become damp.
- Note: The date printed on the incense cone box is the date we handcrafted that specific batch and is for reference only.
Q10. Can I burn incense at night? Are there any religious or spiritual concerns?
Of course you can! Many of our customers are accustomed to lighting incense before sleep, which helps improve sleep quality, reduces vivid dreaming, and allows you to sleep more soundly.
Our intention behind burning incense is purely for "well-being" and "relaxation"—it is not used for spiritual summoning, nor does it involve any religious rituals. That being said, if you have a personal habit of offering incense to Buddha, our Agarwood or Sandalwood incense sticks are also premium, top-tier choices favored by many customers.
🏺 Benefits of mindfie GOODS’ In-House Designed Incense Burners & Boxes
Our incense burners and boxes are all designed in-house, deeply improved to fix the common flaws found in similar products on the market:
- No Ash Leakage: Featuring a precision-drilled multi-hole design. Simply choose the most suitable hole to insert the stick vertically, and the ash will fall precisely into the burner without making a mess around it.
- Effortless Cleaning: The burners can be washed with water or clear, dye-free dish soap, and they dry incredibly fast. If natural plant oils accumulate over time, simply wipe them with rubbing alcohol and a paper towel to restore their clean look.
- Solid Incense Stick Box (The Safest Choice): Utilizing an enclosed burning design with a built-in fireproof mat, the incense stick can burn safely while lying flat. This effectively prevents children or pets from accidentally touching the burning incense, providing ultimate safety. (Friendly tip: When the fireproof mat becomes worn after long-term use, we provide a free replacement service!)
